The Relentless March of Evolution: Why Democracy Will Prevail Over Trump, Musk, and MAGA Fascism
Fascism has reared its head again, this time draped in the
banners of Trump, Musk, and the MAGA movement. But while their onslaught may
feel overwhelming, history and evolution tell us a different story—one of
progress that cannot be permanently reversed.
Yes, we are witnessing a full-blown fascist movement in
America, where power is being consolidated in the hands of billionaires and
demagogues who manipulate the ignorant and the fearful. They seek to dismantle
democracy, erode the rule of law, and impose an oligarchic regime that benefits
only the elite. Yet, despite their temporary victories, they are fighting
against the relentless tide of evolution itself.
Evolution is Progressive, Not Regressive
Human evolution, both biological and societal, has permanently
moved forward. It does not stagnate or permanently regress. We survived the
Dark Ages and emerged into the Enlightenment. We fought wars to end monarchies,
slavery, and segregation. We expanded human rights, from suffrage to civil
liberties, often taking two steps forward and one step back but always pressing
forward.
This is because evolution is wired into our DNA. Our
survival as a species depends not on selfishness and greed but on cooperation,
intelligence, and adaptation. Societies that embraced democracy, science, and
reason have flourished, while those that clung to authoritarianism and
superstition have crumbled.
Look around the world. Nations like Canada, Japan, and much
of Europe have progressed further in human development than the United States,
particularly in social equity, healthcare, and education. Despite its
autocratic government, even China has adapted to global economic realities that
it cannot ignore. These nations have evolved their political and economic
systems while America teeters on the edge of regression under the weight of
MAGA fanaticism.
Democracy as the Evolutionary Future
Trump, Musk, and their enablers are not visionaries; they
are reactionaries—desperate attempts to hold back the march of progress. Their
movement is built on ignorance, greed, and fear, propped up by those who cannot
accept that the future belongs to those who embrace reason, empathy, and
collective progress.
But democracy, despite its flaws, remains the engine of
evolution. Unlike dictatorships and oligarchies, democracies adapt. They are
built to withstand corruption and authoritarian power grabs by correcting
course through the people's will. Every dictator, every demagogue, every
attempt at authoritarian rule has ultimately crumbled under the weight of
democracy’s enduring strength.
Even now, the pressure of democracy is straining oligarchies
and autocracies worldwide. Putin’s Russia is struggling under economic
sanctions and internal dissent. China faces mounting pressure from its people
for greater freedoms. Even Iran and Saudi Arabia cannot suppress the growing
demand for human rights forever. The truth is simple: the people will always
push toward greater freedom because democracy is the natural state of an
intelligent, interconnected species.
The Golden Rule is Wired Into Us
Some argue that morality is a religious construct, but this
is false. The Golden Rule, which states that one should treat others as one
would like to be treated, is not a religious doctrine but an evolutionary
necessity. Empathy and cooperation are wired into our DNA because they ensure
survival. Societies that take care of their own educate their young and protect
the vulnerable survive longer and thrive.
Even amidst Trumpism's chaos, millions are fighting back,
refusing to succumb to authoritarian rule. The resistance is growing, not
fading. The more Trump, Musk, and their ilk try to suppress democracy, the more
people rise in defiance. That is an evolution in action.
Trump and MAGA Will Fade
Trump, Musk, and the MAGA movement will eventually collapse
under the weight of their ignorance and incompetence. Fascism thrives on fear
and propaganda, but it cannot withstand reality. The arc of history bends
toward progress, and no amount of gaslighting, voter suppression, or
demagoguery will change that.
It may take time, and the fight may be long and grueling.
But evolution does not go backward, and democracy is its ultimate destination.
Those who seek to destroy it are merely the latest obstacles in the long
journey of human progress. And like all obstacles before them, they, too, will
be left behind.
Because, in the end, history is not on their side. Evolution
is.
